The 2017 Football Season

Our performance this year in football at all levels was characterized by undesirable results.

The school entered the Manning Cup, Colts and Pepsi competition with high hopes of regaining the faith of the school community in Ascot football, but the footballers will have to wait until next year. None of the teams was able to advance to the next round of the competition. While the 13-1 thrashing of last year was not repeated, the Manning cup team was hammered 8-0 to Holy Trinity at home. Nevertheless, the manning cup team eked out 4 points. The other junior teams did not out play their senior counterparts obtaining very little points.

The coach has decided to begin work with the boys much earlier in the academic and athletic areas of their lives. In addition to the resources available in Physical Education Department many other teachers have volunteered to help. It is hoped that the boys will improve not only in technical football skills but also in character and academics. Most naturally, the school anticipates a much better showing next year.
