Ascot Defeats Bridgeport

At the Dunbeholden field today, Ascot High defeated Bridgeport 1-0 in a thrilling encounter.

Niguel Lyons scored the imortant goal in the 80th minute after several occurrences of colourful play. A penalty was awarded to Ascot High School which was scored on the first attempt. However, the goal was not given because a player from Bridgeport entered the box while the penalty was being taken. On the second attempt, the penality was missed. The event caused minor clashes among players from two schools causing the Safe School Officer to go on the field to separate the students. The incident was quickly managed and play resumed very shortly after. 

Ascot is pleased to open their first match with a win. They play Jamaica College on Saturday at the school at 3:30pm.
